This provincial is particularly known for its cheese; Västerbotten cheese. It’s been produced in Burträsk in Västerbotten since 1872 (!), where it was invented by the dairy maid Ulrika Eleonora Lindström. The Västerbotten cheese is a must-have for our late summer crayfish parties, and particularly in the form of the highly popular Västerbotten cheese pie.
