Basic mounting / framing of your embroidery in an embroidery hoop
When you're done with your embroidery it's time to show off your masterpiece on the wall or on a shelf. To do this you need to mount / frame your embroidery
A simple way to do this is by using an embroidery hoop. As long as your embroidery fits in a (often) round embroidery hoop you can easily use it as a frame. An embroidery hoop is usually used as a tool to make the embroidery process easier.
The easiest way to frame your embroidery
The first thing you need to do is to attach the fabric to the hoop. Make sure it is centered, tight and straight (align it to the top screw).
When you're satisfied with the position of the fabric turn it over and cut some of the excess fabric, leave about one inch.
Fold down and press the fabric with and iron so the fabric lays flat against the back. You can also glue the fabric to the hoop.
The final touches
Depending on the color of the wall or shelf behind your embroidery it might "shine through" and be visible from the front. A simple way to solve this is to cut a circle piece of white paper and fit it inside the inner ring on the back of the embroidery hoop.
